LORD JESUS CHRIST
Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
How have you been treating God? God treats everyone of us the same way. He does not distinguish between black and white or any other color. He does not see the ethnicity as we see it. Some of you might disagree with me on this subject. Because you can say, “look at the poor man suffering from poverty and look at the rich man enjoying the riches”.
Or one might wonder why their nextdoor neighbor is prospering more than themselves. You see it all depends on how we visualize things around us. There’s a passage in the Bible when the Lord spoke to the Prophet Samuel. He said,
1 Samuel 16:7
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
God applies the same care irrespective of who we are. Take for example, a family living below the poverty line in the most treacherous conditions. Do you think God is not watching them? Or not taking care of them? No. God is still taking care of their daily needs.
Where did poverty come from? Poverty has multiple root causes beyond just a lack of basic necessities like food, shelter, education, or healthcare. Discrimination based on gender or ethnicity, poor governance, conflict, exploitation, and domestic violence have been the factors that have been contributing throughout the ages. Not to mention addictions like alcoholism, gambling and drugs in the present day also play an important role in the lives of these people.
One can argue that if God is Omnipotent, then He could fix all these issues with a finger snap. Yes. God has the power to fix all of these issues but it was not like this in the beginning. Adam’s nature was corrupted by his own actions. Since that time corruption has encroached every facet of mankind. The corruption has affected all aspects, sides, or dimensions of a person’s existence, encompassing relationships, work, health, and personal growth thus leading to the class of rich and poor.
The question one must ask themselves is that in all these things did God change or did He act indifferently towards one person and not the other? The answer is, “NO”. As human beings we look at each other superficially but little do we understand that God sees our heart. He is after our heart. God wants to revive our heart with a new heart that only God can do. But in order for God to give us a new heart, the person must first submit to His authority.
The depravity of sin affects every single individual irrespective of how rich or poor they are. God formed every soul even before the foundation of this earth was laid down. Man was not created by different gods. If that was the case then there would be thousands of weird looking characters walking all over the earth. God is not regional to a certain area.
For this reason all human beings have their body parts where they belong. One does not have their eyes placed on their knees or on the back of their heads. All humans are identical in every aspect. God knows us even before we are conceived from our mother’s womb. He sees us throughout our lifetime and just like a mother cares for her baby, God cares for us night and day and He even sings song to comfort us. All these things are true if you only believe in the true God.
So, the question, how have you been treating God? Can you answer that question? Are we treating God the same way as He treats us? How we treat the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ gives us the ability to understand and to know who God is. And if we submit to Christ in every facet of life, then God will take care of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
