LORD JESUS CHRIST
Colossians 1:10
10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Today’s question: Are we treating God the same way He treats us?
Does a Christian needs to walk worthy of the Lord? The answer is: YES. Many times we hear believers putting themselves in the weakest shoes. A common phenomena is that as a Christian it is difficult to survive in this world. Health issues, wealth issues, family issues, job issues, relationship issues and other issues creep into our life.
We call ourselves to be a Christian but we have a lot of struggles in life. The struggles that a Christian goes through feels like it is overwhelming at times. Many among us lead a life that is not pleasing God at all. Man works hard all day and comes home exhausted and has no time to meditate and pray. Morning comes and once again it is time to go to work. This is how most of the Christians spend their time.
Just because someone gets married, does not mean that they know each other completely. Understanding each other takes a lifetime. Many believers think that once they are saved, there is nothing else that needs to be done because they think that the entry into heaven is guaranteed. In a Sunday Church worship service do you think all of the 200 people attending the service are actively serving the Lord? No. There are only few who have the passion to grow in the knowledge of God. The rest attend to please somebody else. If every attendee develops a passion to spread the Good News, then the world would be so different than what we are seeing today.
How does one grow in the knowledge of God? One can grow in the knowledge of God, if they learn to spend a lot of time in God’s presence. A lot of time means, we have to become God conscious at all times. One has to learn to invite the Holy Spirit and fellowship with Him continuously. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, no one can know who Christ is. And without Jesus Christ, no one can know who the Lord God Almighty is.
The more we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, the more we grow in the knowledge of God the Father. Earlier I mentioned that we must spend time in God’s presence. The way we spend time in His presence is by meditating on the Word of God. The more time we give to God’s word, the more we will be drawn towards God. I am not sure if anyone has experienced this or not but, when we read the passages of the Bible, it seems like you too have become a part of that conversation or sometimes a particular passage feels as if the word of God is speaking to you directly.
As we grow in the knowledge of God, we begin to grasp how much worthy we are to God. The impartation of the word is critical to living a holy life. A born again believer is a child of the most high God. That means our standing with God should not be any less. By complaining to God about our life struggles, we are declaring that there is nothing that God can do to fix our problems. We make the Lord less significant in our lives by opting to complain rather praising Him and offering our thanksgiving.
If a person has to enroll in the Marines, he has to overcome every emotion and clear every hurdle he faces. Although it is a very difficult task the objective must be to overcome and become a part of the Marine Corps. One needs perfection in achieving complicated tasks. So is growing in the knowledge of God. A Christian believer has to be meticulous in his desire to be with the Lord God. No ifs and no buts period. If we are to walk worthy of the Lord, then we need to set our standard to the heavens height and not to the depths of the earth.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
