Bible Facts Of The Day, April 18, 2025 WHO IS LORD JESUS CHRIST?

GOOD FRIDAY

Matthew 27:25

Even to this day and beyond the Words of our Lord matter. But what about our words? Do they matter? The answer is “YES”.

In the above verse the people gathered in front of the Pilate the Governor and screamed that Christ be crucified even though the Governor did not find Jesus of any wrongdoing. The people that is the Jewish people went so far that they didn’t mind the innocent blood of Christ be on them and on their children.

Their words had consequences. When anyone spills a person’s blood or kills an innocent person, they are guilty of killing or murdering that person. Even by saying those words in fact they are guilty. For this reason Jesus taught that even the thoughts of evil thinking are forbidden by the children of God.

When the Jews spoke the words that the blood be on them and on their children they knew the verse from the Book of Leviticus, the Torah:

Leviticus 5:4

‘Or if a person swears, speaking thoughtlessly with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man may pronounce by an oath, and he is unaware of it—when he realizes it, then he shall be guilty in any of these matters.

Because of what they spoke against Christ, God will hold them accountable to this day and beyond until they repent of their actions. Make no mistake that God loves them but words will have consequences. Not just the Jewish people are held accountable but every gentile is held accountable by God for our actions against Lord Jesus Christ.

Unless one realizes and repents of their sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, the Lord God will not pardon them. The reason Christ suffered humiliation by standing in front of a Roman Governor without opening His mouth and when people hurled insults at Him did not say a word is for me and for you.

He did this so that you and I need not go through this. Christ took my punishment and your punishment and bore our sins on a Roman cross and gave up His Spirit on a Good Friday two thousand years ago.

Shouldn’t we be glad that we are no longer guilty of our actions and sins? Yes. Jesus Christ paid the penalty and redeemed us through His precious blood. May we all ponder on the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ on this day! The pain and the suffering He endured for our sake, to save us from the coming wrath of God.

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
