JOHN 3:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless someone is born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.”

What does it mean to be born from above? It means that a person is born again as a child of God. When Jesus Christ said born from above, He meant born of God. How is this transaction executed by God? To understand this first we need to grasp the relationship between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

These three are One but distinctively separate in three Persons. No one with the human mind can comprehend this. These three Persons are co-equal to each other and their offices differ from one another. They were together when the foundations of this earth was laid down by them. Before the heavens were formed they were there. God has no beginning and no end. Similarly Lord Jesus Christ has no beginning and no end. And so is the Holy Sprit.

Isaiah 40:28

²⁸ Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.

Isaiah 9:6

⁶ For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

1 John 5:7

⁷ For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

Born from above means born supernaturally. Supernatural is a phenomena that occurs beyond the natural means. Only God possess the supernatural ability to create something out of nothing. This is not a cheap magic trick performed by a magician but achieved by the awesome power and the glory of God.

Instantly in the twinkling of an eye the Spirit of God that is the Holy Spirit enters into the person that has been saved. This work has been accomplished by God through the redemption work of His Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross by the shedding of His blood. His blood was paid as a ransom to release the individual that was serving in bondage of sin and in slavery.

That instant in the life of a person is called the born again moment. The sins of a sinner were justified at that moment. The sins have been forgiven by God the Father. No longer is that person’s name in the list of condemnation. The justification is the process whereby the old owner of that property was evicted by the new Landlord God. He now owns that person and is identified as His new possession. At that instant moment we as the born again believers forfeit every right that we owned before. Now we have become the servant of God. We now have become the doulos of God. Doulos in Greek translates to a slave person.

As a doulos, we now have the freedom only in Jesus Christ. Whatever we do, the boundaries of a born again believer must be within the walls of Christ Jesus. There’s nothing that must we be attracted to outside of Jesus Christ. Him alone must we serve. He is our longing, He is our suffering, He is our joy, He is our life, He is our rest, He is our prayer, He is our need, He is our desire. Him alone must we worship. Him alone must we thank. Him alone must we praise. Him alone must we honor.

Unless there is crucifixion, there is no resurrection.

Unless there is death, there is no life.

If anyone wants to become a born again believer all they have to do is say this prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, please accept me just the way I am. Father, from this time on I surrender and commit my life unto You. I am a sinner and I have sinned against You and Your Son. I have wasted the precious time You have given me. Please forgive my sins and give me the eternal life through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Father, use me for your glory. In Jesus precious name I offer this prayer. Amen and Amen.
