  • Bible Facts Of The Day, January 01, 2025 The Peace Of God

    January 1st, 2025

    Happy New Year!

    Colossians 3:15

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,

As we enter into the new year 2025, let’s all pray that the peace of God will rule our hearts. The Greek translation uses ‘Christ’ in place of ‘God’. The word ‘peace’ in Hebrew is called ‘Shalem’ or Shalom.

In Greek, “eiréné” is translated to peace in English. In the New Testament, “eiréné” primarily denotes a state of tranquility, harmony, and well-being. It is used to describe both the absence of conflict and the presence of positive blessings, such as safety, prosperity, and spiritual peace. The term is often associated with the peace that comes from a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ, as well as the peace that believers are called to maintain with one another.

Shalom on the other hand is a multifaceted Hebrew word that encompasses a range of meanings related to peace and completeness. It signifies not only the absence of conflict but also the presence of positive blessings such as health, safety, and prosperity. Shalom is used to describe harmonious relationships between individuals, nations, and between God and humanity. It also conveys a sense of wholeness and well-being, both physically and spiritually.

Jesus spoke in John 14:27 this:

    John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

One can receive this peace from Christ only if they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Christ is the peace of God. In this new year let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

    Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
