  • Bible Facts Of The Day, December 16, 2024 The First Advent of Jesus Christ

    December 16th, 2024

    John 3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

The Greek word for condemn is katakrinō (G2632). It means to judge against or sentence, or to judge someone worthy of punishment. Jesus Christ in the above verse made it clear that He did not come into this world to judge anyone during His first advent.

The Lord goes on to say that He came to save the world through Him.

In Greek, cosmos means “the world,” but it specifically means the world of people. It means society, civilization, and the political powers and divisions of that world.

The Lord left His heavenly abode and came to earth to set His children free. For the Creator coming to Earth in flesh was no ordinary matter. His birth was announced centuries before. As a matter of fact God Himself spoke about the Seed in the Book of Genesis. After 4000 years later Jesus was born in the city of David called the Bethlehem.

Then He grew up just like any child and spent 30 years of His earthly life perhaps as the Carpenter building and repairing doors, windows, roofs and perhaps He made the tables, chairs and beds too.

For four thousand years multiple generations lived and died. But then one day the story of redemption unfolded. The angel announced the birth of Christ.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

    Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
