BIBLE FACTS OF THE DAY

  • Bible Facts Of The Day, December 08, 2024 The First Advent of Jesus Christ

    December 8th, 2024

    How was the birth of Lord Jesus Christ foretold? Before we go to the Bible verse, please allow me to explain about these passages. Throughout the Bible God spoke about the arrival of His Son, The Messiah. That is the reason they are called the Messianic passages. In Genesis chapter forty nine and verse ten we read this:

    Genesis 49:10

    10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
    Nor a lawgiver from between his feet,
    Until Shiloh comes;
    And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

    A scepter is defined as a ceremonial staff, often used by kings. With its jewels and ornamentation, a scepter is a symbol of power. Only the kings carry the scepter and wear a crown showing their authority and sovereignty over their land and the people and or their entire nation. It is a symbol of royalty.

    Jacob on his deathbed blessed his sons according to their own blessing. Even though Judah is the recipient of this blessing, it ultimately is a prophetic fulfillment in the Son of God. Jesus Christ is called the KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS.

    Revelation 19:16

    16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

    KING OF KINGS AND
    LORD OF LORDS.

    The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

    Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
