BIBLE FACTS OF THE DAY

Isaiah 55:6

⁶ Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.

Who needs to seek the Lord, you might ask? The answer is that everyone of us needs to seek the Lord and this is the truth of God. God expects us to seek Him and Him alone. This is the Universal truth. We read it in the Gospel of Matthew chapter six and verse thirty three. Jesus said:

Matthew 6:33

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Lord Jesus Christ was speaking to the multitudes from the top of the mountain. Here multitudes meant people from all walks of life. The Lord addressed a very large crowd. Jesus told that everyone of them needs to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness. When we go back and read the passage from Isaiah 55, it meant the same meaning. Seeking the Lord is same as seeking His kingdom and seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness is same as seeking the Lord. Now how does one seek the kingdom of God?

One can only seek the kingdom of God by seeking refuge in God’s kingdom. The millions of people that are crossing the borders and seeking asylum in the United States are those people that are escaping poverty, persecution and death in their native places. This is what Jesus was speaking of. The people who were listening to His sermon on the mount were the people who were broken hearted and wounded and persecuted. When we consider the people of this world all of them are broken hearted and wounded because of their transgressions. The Bible declares in Romans three verse twenty three:

Romans 3:23

²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Everyone of us have sinned against God and we all deserve death. Death of a sinner separates him from God for eternity. For this reason Lord God sent His only Son Lord Jesus Christ to die for us. He died so that you and I didn’t have to go through the wrath of God. Every person who does not seek the Lord will ultimately face the wrath of God. No ifs and buts. The Word of God is true and words of man are false. Lord Jesus Christ is the true Messiah.

Let us all seek the Lord while He may be found. Call on His Name while He is near.

¹³ For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
