  • Bible Facts Of The Day, February 20, 2026 “Two Kingdoms, One Choice”

    February 20th, 2026

    Introduction

After the death of Solomon, the united nation of Kingdom of Israel did not stay together.
Because of sin, pride, and disobedience, the people divided.

What was once one nation under God became two kingdoms divided by the heart.

And this is not just history — it is a warning.

Because whenever hearts divide from God, lives divide too.

    1. The Division Happened Because of Sin

When Rehoboam became king, he rejected wise counsel and ruled harshly.

    The people cried for relief.
But pride answered instead of compassion.

So 10 tribes rebelled and followed Jeroboam.

    Result:

    • North → Israel
    • South → Judah

    Truth:
Division begins when leaders (and people) stop listening to God.

    Pride splits families.
    Pride splits churches.
    Pride splits nations.

    2. The Northern Kingdom — Israel (A Pattern of Compromise)

    Kingdom of Israel

    • 10 tribes
    • 19 kings
    • Not one godly king
    • Set up idol worship
    • Golden calves
    • False priests

    Jeroboam said:
“It is too much for you to go to Jerusalem.”

He made religion convenient instead of obedient.

    Lesson:

    Convenience religion leads to corruption.

    When worship becomes:

    • easier than obedience
    • comfortable instead of holy
    • man-made instead of God-ordained

    Judgment follows.

God allowed Assyria to conquer them.

    They disappeared.

Sin always promises freedom but ends in captivity.

    3. The Southern Kingdom — Judah (A Pattern of Mixed Faithfulness)

    Kingdom of Judah

    • 2 tribes: Judah and Benjamin (plus Levites)
    • 20 kings
    • Some good, some bad
    • Temple still in Jerusalem
    • Occasional revivals

    Kings like:

    • Hezekiah
    • Josiah

    brought reform.

But the people kept drifting back to sin.

    Eventually, Babylon destroyed Jerusalem.

    Lesson:

    Partial obedience is not obedience.

You cannot live on yesterday’s revival.

Each generation must choose God again.

    4. The Big Spiritual Picture

These two kingdoms represent two spiritual paths:

    Israel → compromise → destruction

    Judah → inconsistency → discipline

    Both teach us:

If God is not first, collapse is certain.

    A divided heart cannot stand.

    5. Application for Today

    Ask yourself:

    • Is my heart divided like Israel?
    • Do I worship convenience instead of obedience?
    • Am I hot and cold like Judah?
    • Or fully committed to God?

God does not want two kingdoms in your life.

He wants one throne — and He sits on it.

    Closing Illustration

Once there was one united kingdom under God.

But when God was removed from the center, division followed.

And the same is true today:

When God leaves the center of a life,
    everything else falls apart.

    Conclusion

    Two kingdoms.
    Two stories.
    One message.

Stay faithful. Stay obedient. Stay united with God.

    Because a divided kingdom falls…
but a heart surrendered to God stands forever.

    Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
