The great deception
Matthew 24:4
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
Matthew chapter 24 commences the Olivet Discourse spoken by Jesus Christ to His disciples, also described as the Eschatological Discourse. In verse 4, Jesus told His disciples to be on the look out so that no one would deceive them. The word deceive means intentionally misleading someone. Let me give you an analogy. Suppose a person wants to travel from point A to B but does not know how to get to point B. So, he decides to ask for help. The helper instead of showing the direction to point B, intentionally misleads and directs the person to go C and D and so on. Eventually the person who was looking to get to point B is completely lost and was never able to reach to his destination.
The teachers of this world are teaching each one of us how to live and also how to reach out to their god. These teachers acquire the gifts this world offers and intentionally mislead God created human beings. Jesus knew this even before this world was created by Him. Going back to the analogy, if a person wants to get the right direction to point B, should first find and seek Jesus. Jesus is the only way to point B. Point B being the God the Father. Point A is where we are located in the time of our life. When we look at the world for answers seeking God, we will hear a million things to get us distracted and misdirected eventually losing our way in seeking God.
Satan is the father of lies. From the beginning he is the deceiver who deceived Eve in the garden of Eden. From that point to this day and beyond Satan will continue to deceive this world until Jesus binds him in chains in the bottomless pit in the new millennium. Until then he is free to roam and intentionally mislead the people of this world. The only way out for us is to believe in Lord Jesus Christ and become born again believers. The devil who has been deceiving will no longer be able to deceive the children of God. So, today if you are looking to seek and serve God, then call on the name of Jesus and you will be saved.
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless us all!
Maranatha!
