Matthew 24:39
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
During the time of Noah, the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. We live in a world today that is pretty much similar to Noah’s time. People ignored the warnings and did not realize until the flood came and took them all away. Jesus warned us 2000 years ago, that the coming of the Son of Man will be similar to the flood coming and taking them all away during the Noah’s time. God gave Noah and his family the task to build an ark. As per the estimates, Noah took over 100 years to build the ark. Technically the countdown began when God saw the wickedness of man began multiplying.
The flood came when the world was unprepared, at an unexpected time. Jesus spoke about Himself in Matthew 24:39, that He will be coming into this world a second time, when the world is not prepared to receive Him. For many the Lord’s coming will be a surprise. Because during His second advent, He will come as the King of kings and the Lord of lords filled with unmatched power and glory. Many on this earth will be shocked at that time and there won’t be any way to escape the great coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The grace of God is freely available now for those who want to make Christ as their Lord and personal savior. Let us not be like the people during Noah’s time who were ignorant and not able to save themselves from the flood but let us accept His free gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ and prepare ourselves to meet the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ will return a second time to the earth even though the world is not prepared to meet Him.
Today there are millions of people who do not know who God the Father is. For this reason Lord Jesus Christ came into this world the first time to show us the way to the Father. In Jesus name! Amen.
