    John 18:36

36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world.

In the Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy, J. Barton Payne itemized 127 Messianic predictions. These incredible promises formed one of the most central themes of the Old Testament: the coming Messiah.

We find in John 1:41, Andrew saying to Simon that they have found the Messiah. God chose a chaotic time to send His Son Jesus the Messiah into our midst. At the time of the Messiah’s arrival, Jews were experiencing persecution from the Romans on several occasions. One of the most serious conflicts between the Rome and the Jews began in Judea in A.D. 66 when Nero was the emperor. Thus leading to the destruction of the Temple. The Jews were looking for the arrival of a King to set them free from the oppression. Instead they saw Jesus as a mere carpenter’s Son. Little did they know that Jesus came to establish His Kingdom at the first advent. Jesus during His ministry on the earth, showed the people of this world the way to His Father, by forgiving their sins those who sought Him and by giving them a new life, by putting an end to the works of the devil and prepared them for the second advent/coming.

When Pontius Pilate asked Jesus whether He was the King of the Jews, Jesus clarified by saying that His Kingdom was not of this world. Jesus Himself is not of this world. Jesus continues to say that if it was so, then His disciples would fight to prevent His capture by the Jews. Today we are living in a time where there is so much of confusion in this world. No one can predict how the future is going to look like but only God. So, let us prepare for Christ’s return. This time Christ Jesus will not stand as a criminal before any ruler of this world. Instead the rulers of this world and all those who rejected Him will be subjected to bow down on their knees ashamed and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. Let us all glorify the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. In Him and Him alone is life and freedom. In Jesus name! Amen.

    Maranatha!
