  • God’s Word of the Day November 4 2022

    November 4th, 2022

    Colossians 3:17

17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Every family in America celebrates the Thanksgiving Day in the month of November. Without the first pilgrims coming to America there wouldn’t have been any families celebrating the Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving traditions can be traced back to harvest festivals, when the Pilgrims from England and the Native Americans they encountered gave thanks for a bountiful harvest. In September 1620, a small ship called the Mayflower left Plymouth, England, carrying 102 passengers—an assortment of religious separatists seeking a new home where they could freely practice their faith and other individuals lured by the promise of prosperity and land ownership in the “New World.” After a treacherous travelling that lasted for 66 days they reached the land called America.

Similarly a Christian believer has to weigh in the most important thing pertaining to eternal life, whether to serve God or serve the passing world. The men and the families who traveled from England to America for 66 days were determined to settle in the new world because of their faith despite facing hardships. Whatever the outcome was, they were prepared to face it.

God called each one us into His Son’s kingdom with a purpose. The one question we need to ask ourselves is that are we determined to serve God’s purpose and be thankful to take on the journey while we are on the earth just like the pilgrims took in reaching the New World? Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” No matter what our circumstances are, in everything we do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Let us learn today to thank God in every situation of our lives. In Jesus name! Amen.

    Maranatha!
