    Philippians 1:10

10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

The above verse is pretty important in the life of a true born again believer. God’s sovereignty rules over all of the creation. When a believer learns to walk closely with God, the Holy Spirit will then enable that person to discern what is best, and help them be pure and blameless until the day of Christ. The day of Jesus Christ refers to the time of His coming again to take His people home to heaven. It refers to the Rapture and the subsequent judgment of the believer’s works.

Spiritual discernment is the ability to understand or know something through the power of the Spirit. A person who wants to enlist in the army, first of all has to pass the pre-requisites. They have to be healthy, they have to meet the height and weight requirements. Be willing to get trained and pass through grueling regiment before he/she can serve their country. Defending the country is to stand in the frontlines of the battleground and be prepared to fight the enemy with the weapons of war to achieve victory. In the same way, no matter how strong a Christian believer could be physically and mentally, he/she still needs the the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. By meditating on God’s Word and in prayer day and night, the believer develops an intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Intimacy with God enables us to reflect upon our relationship and standing with God. Only those people who are found blameless on the day of Jesus Christ will be taken to heaven. Let us examine ourselves today and ask the Father the gift of discernment. It will not only help each one of us individually but also allows us to share the spiritual discernment with others thus preparing them for the day of Christ. In Jesus name! Amen.

    Maranatha!
