    Genesis 6:8

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah belonged to the 10th generation from Adam. During Noah’s time the world was in chaotic order. The scripture describes in v11 that the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. During that time, Genesis 6:8 declares, “but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

What is Grace? Grace is defined as the unmerited favor of God on whomever God choses. In other words, Grace is the power that God willingly gives us to help us do what we could never do on our own.

Before God brought in the great flood, God spoke to Noah and declared him as a righteous person. Now how does God declare someone to be righteous? The answer to that is found in Genesis 6:9 declares that Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. To better understand this passage, there are three keys that we need to focus on 1) Noah was a just man 2)He was a perfect man 3)Noah walked with God. When these three qualities are summed up then the end result is that Noah had intimacy with God. Noah knew God. One can develop intimacy with God only if they posses the three above mentioned characteristics. When trouble strikes us, we will find grace in the eyes of God . Genesis 8:1 says, “God remembered Noah …” Do you want to be remembered by God in the day of trouble? If yes, then we have to learn to live as a just person, live a perfect life in this generation and walk with God no matter what our circumstances are. Let us walk with God continuously for the rest of our lives. Just like Noah experienced God’s grace during the great flood, we too will experience the Lord’s grace through His Son Lord Jesus Christ, because He remembers us. This is the purpose for which God sent His Son so that every one of us will taste the Grace of God by choosing Jesus Christ as their personal savior. In Jesus name! Amen.
