Genesis 1:2
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
Here in v2 of the book of the Genesis, which by the way means origin, gives us an idea of how the earth looked. It was without form and empty. If we examine ourselves without God, we would be like without form meaning barren or empty and with no form of life. What did God do, when His Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters? The first thing that God did was to add the light so that the darkness would be separated. Did it ever occur to us that before God touched our lives that we too were barren and without a purpose for life. Many times we search for the purpose of life and try to find happiness here and there but until the Spirit of God touches us, one would never understand the true meaning of life and its value. Our God loved the earth He created so much, He went one step further that He was willing to make it a purpose driven planet. God willed to add the planet earth with a touch of light thereby separating it from the darkness.
Many times us as the little children of this world, we tend to wander without a particular intention or direction, tossed and twisted by the velocities of the winds thus losing the momentum of why we are here on the earth in the first place. We later on find out that when we begin to submit to God’s will, rule and authority, we will begin to see the change in our lives necessary for a purpose driven life. Let’s meditate today on how we were before we were saved and how we are after we have received the free gift of salvation from God through His Son Jesus Christ. In Jesus name! Amen.
