John 1:12
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
To become a child of God is the highest honor that we don’t deserve. Think of it like a dog abandoned by its owner and left to die. Many times there are advertisements about pet adoptions. Whoever takes that pet home should care that animal and make that pet safe at home. Also, nourish the animal to regain its strength. Similarly, countless number of young human babies are adopted into other families. It requires assimilation into that family. The parents who adopt the little child have to be extremely careful so as to not to hurt the child’s feelings and emotions. So does our God. When we are adopted into God’s family, our Lord is extremely sensitive to our feelings and emotions. He does not want to lose us at any cost.
Our God so rich in mercy and does the same thing for us. He cares for us. We who were abandoned by this sinful world are now adopted into the family of God. Lord Jesus Christ becomes our caretaker. He makes sure that we are nourished with the spiritual food. Spiritual food that strengthens us spiritually and He works with us to assimilate into His kingdom. It is a fascinating experience for every born again believer to go through this transformation.
Friend, as the scripture says, today if you hear His voice do not harden your heart. Every person that rejects the Word of God has a heart that has been calloused due to the problems that the world puts us through. But God is not like that. His kingdom is very different than the world we live in today. This is the reason He sent His son into this world and has allowed His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the entire humanity to prove His love for us.
The One who knew no sin became sin for us. Innocent blood of our Lord Jesus Christ was shed for the remission of our sins.
Maranatha!
