DISCERNMENT

God is holy. Anyone following God must live a holy life. There is nothing on this earth that makes a man or a woman holy. No amount of penance can make a person holy. One cannot become holy by practicing self-righteousness. No matter how good a person is, still he is unable to become holy by practicing self-discipline or by becoming a philanthropist. The Bible declares that there is none righteous and there is no one who does good. Not even one.

Romans 3:10

¹⁰ As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;

And in Romans verse 12,

Romans 3:12

there is no one who does good,
    not even one.”

The Word of God is clear in saying that there is no one born into this world is righteous by nature. No, not one. A person is made righteous by God Himself. It is God who choses the man to be made holy and righteous. For this reason He has sent His only begotten Son Lord Jesus Christ into this world to die for sinners. Because of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, those who believe in Him will be saved from the wrath of God that is coming soon upon this whole world.

God Himself provides with all things that are necessary for a person’s salvation. Men have to just believe in the Lord. The rest of the heavy lifting is done by God through His Son Jesus Christ.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
