DISCERNMENT
One’s ability to discern is a gift from God. As I mentioned yesterday that Lord Jesus Christ is greater than king Solomon in discerning between good and evil, between right and wrong. For this reason the scriptures mention that Jesus Christ is the judge of the living and the dead.
2 Timothy 4:1
I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
Because of His divine nature, Lord Jesus Christ is able to judge the living the dead. Not only is He able to judge but He is also able to righteously discern between good and evil, between right and wrong. This is the reason no one will be able to point their finger towards God and say that He is wrong.
When a person receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they have invited Christ into their heart and since Christ lives in them, the person has to learn to lean on the Holy Spirit for guidance even on simple matters. Simple matters like eating food, going to work, coming from work, talking to family members and so on have to be brought to Lord’s attention. As one begins to spend more time with the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ helps that person to spiritually discern on all levels.
Every person who receives Christ as their Lord and Savior receives the gift of discernment. Many who receive this gift do not know how to utilize it.

As the Hebrew writer writes this in:
Hebrews 5:14
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
When Christians act like babies, they are unable to discern between good and evil. This is the reason counterfeit Christianity has been thriving for centuries.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
