1 Corinthians 2:14

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Paul in 1st Corinthians chapter 2, described clearly that the natural man is unable to grasp the things of the Spirit of God and they are foolishness to him. First let’s see who is a natural man. Every person born into this world is a natural man. Natural man does not understand the things of God because natural man is unable to spiritually discern. In order for man to discern spiritual things, Holy Spirit has to dwell in them to reveal the things of the God. People with discernment are able to make keen observations about things. It often involves making a judgment, especially about spiritual things that aren’t obvious. The natural man neither possess the skills nor have the wisdom from God. They are not equipped with a sound mind.

Only God has the wisdom and authority to distinguish between the morally right and the morally wrong, between the left and the right and between the good and the bad. In the story of Jonah, God saw the people of Nineveh who were unable to discern between their right hand and their left hand. God showed pity on this great city and decided to send Jonah to the city of Nineveh to preach the message. There were only one hundred and twenty thousand people at that time. Today in this world created by God, there are about 8 billion people and the majority of them are unable to discern between their right hand and their left hand.

When God saw the world that He created, He had pity on us. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”. This is the reason God sent His Son at the right time once for all into this world, and those who seek God through His Son, will no longer be a natural man but the Holy Spirit that dwells in them sanctifies the man and reveals man understand the Spirit of God. It is impossible for any man to understand the ground rules of the earth and heaven without the Spirit and Wisdom of God. It is never too late to reach out to God through His Son Jesus Christ. Let us all seek God today to receive the spiritual discernment from Jesus. In Jesus name! Amen.
