Bible Facts Of The Day, November 03, 2024

If someone asks a question to state the difference between the law and grace, what would be your answer? Simply put law is an order or a guideline that one needs to obey and follow. A law is a rule made by an authority and that must be obeyed. Take for example the traffic light allows the car driver to stop at the red light and proceed when the light turns green. The traffic light does not have to know the make of the car or who the driver is.

Similarly the car driver does not have to know which intersection he is going through. All he needs to know is to stop when the light turns red and proceed when the light turns green.

The Jewish people when they follow the law of Moses, they don’t know who God is. Since they are following the law, it doesn’t make any difference whether they follow the God of Abraham or not. As long as one keeps following the law they think that everything is going smoothly. In other words there is no relationship between that person and God.

The person is relationally bonded with the law and not with God. Just as one following the traffic signal doesn’t get any closer with the traffic controller who designed the traffic lights.

The One who knew no sin became sin for us. Innocent blood of our Lord Jesus Christ was shed for the remission of our sins.

Maranatha!
