LORD
In Matthew chapter seven, Lord Jesus Christ spoke while He was speaking to the multitude also called as the Sermon on the Mount.
Matthew 7:21
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
What did Jesus meant by His saying? Jesus Christ was emphasizing that there will be many who will say ‘Lord, Lord,’ but God will not allow them to enter into His kingdom. Here is the reason why:
In today’s world there are countless number of people who call themselves to be Christians but in fact they are not. They are like wolves in sheep’s clothing. These people have taken the simple sayings of Lord Jesus Christ and convoluted it. Many denominations even though started with a good intention lost their credibility along the way. In other words they have compromised the Word of God with the world. They decided that they would rather please the people of this world rather than please the God through Lord Jesus Christ.
They have manipulated the Words of Christ and took it to a whole new level. Today there are millions of Christians who have no understanding what it means to make Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They will do everything else that the world does but to make Jesus as their Lord it is an impossible task for them.
This is the reason our Lord said in Matthew 7:21 that on the that day, paraphrasing here many people (of different Christian denominations and backgrounds) will try to enter the kingdom of God by saying Lord, Lord. But Lord Jesus Christ will outright reject them by saying to depart from Him because He never knew them. Knowing God is a gift from God. That gift is Christ Jesus. One must encounter Jesus Christ daily to know Him.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha!
