Bible Facts Of The Day, December 06, 2024 The First Advent of Jesus Christ

Why was the birth of Jesus Christ announced hundreds of years ago by the Prophets? Back in the old days, when a king wanted to visit a certain place or a town that is under his control, there would be a proclamation made well in advance. When the subjects of the king are made to know that the king is coming, the anticipation of the king’s arrival prepared everyone in the kingdom to look forward to see and meet that king.

The announcement of the earthly kings was done in such a magnificent manner. Even today when the world leaders and the dignitaries travel, their itinerary sometimes are scheduled years ahead of time. After all the human dignitaries of this world get so much attention of their arrival, imagine how much importance and how much more significant it will be for God to come into this world.

For over seven hundred years prophet Isaiah prophesied that a Child will be born of a virgin woman and His name shall be called Immanuel. God Himself revealed about Jesus Christ to the prophets for ages. Many prophesies were given to many men and the excitement and the anticipation that people during their time experienced was beyond explanation. In the Gospel of Matthews, Jesus Christ declared this:

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
