Bible Facts Of The Day, December 10, 2024 The First Advent of Jesus Christ

The Book of Numbers chapter twenty four and verse seventeen there’s a Messianic passage that talks about the Star that comes out of Jacob.

Numbers 24:17

A Star shall come out of Jacob;
A Scepter shall rise out of Israel,

Symbolically speaking, Daniel 12:3 says that “those who turn many to righteousness, are like the stars forever and ever”. Lord Jesus Christ was sent to the Earth to turn many to righteousness forever and ever. Christ came to fulfill His Father’s will.

See, how true the Word of God is! It never misses a beat. Because of Christ’s coming into this world, those who have received Him into their hearts, have become the righteousness of God. Christ is indeed the Star of Jacob.

As the verse continues to speak about a Scepter that will rise out of Israel. Jacob was given a new name by God after Jacob wrestled with God all night. God called him Israel. Israel blessed his son Judah by saying that the Scepter shall not depart from him.

To get a better understanding of God’s everlasting covenant we need to read Genesis chapter seventeen.

Genesis 17:19

19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

God promised Abraham that the covenant God will make with Isaac will be an everlasting covenant. Isaac’s son was Jacob. So, the everlasting covenant of God was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Today as the children of the New Covenant we are called the born believers in Jesus Christ.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
