John 7:42
42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”
In the Bible, “the Seed of David” refers to Jesus Christ, as He is considered to be the descendant of King David, fulfilling the prophecy that a descendant of David would be the promised Messiah; this is mentioned in the book of Romans 1:3 where it states:
Roman 1:3
concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,
Prophet Jeremiah prophesied that the Lord will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; In the Scriptures Lord Jesus Christ is referred figuratively as the seed of David and elsewhere He is referred as the Branch of righteousness. The hometown of King David was Bethlehem. King David was considered to be the greatest king of his time.
The reign of King David over Israel is considered a golden age in the country’s history. There was peace and prosperity during his reign. David’s reign brought an end to the years of civil war and conflict that followed Saul’s death. Israel defeated the Philistines, their former enemies, and David showed mercy to the family of Saul.
In the book of Romans 1:4
4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness,
If King David, son of Jesse reigned his kingdom with peace and prosperity, how much more does our Lord Jesus Christ reign His kingdom! King Jesus was born to rule the nations as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Christ is indeed the Son of God with power according to the book Romans chapter one and verse four. His kingdom cannot be compared with any earthly kingdom because it will be way better than the golden age of King David. He is coming soon.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
