Bible Facts Of The Day, February 06, 2026 “Who Is The True God?”

From a biblical Christian perspective, the true God is the LORD (YHWH)—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—revealed fully in Jesus Christ.

People have wrestled with for all of human history.

The Bible is very clear about this:

“I am the LORD, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me.”

—Isaiah 45:5

Why the Bible says the LORD is the true God

1. He alone is the Creator

The God of Scripture didn’t emerge from nature—He created it.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

False gods are made by human hands; the true God made humans.

2. He reveals Himself, not just ideas about Him

God speaks, acts in history, makes covenants, and keeps His promises. He doesn’t remain distant or unknown.

3. He alone saves

Every other “god” demands works. The God of the Bible provides salvation.

“I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior.” (Isaiah 43:11)

4. He revealed Himself perfectly in Jesus Christ

This is the central Christian claim.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

—John 14:6

Jesus didn’t claim to be a way—He claimed to be the truth Himself.

“Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9)

What about other gods?

The Bible doesn’t deny that people worship other gods—it says they are not real gods.

“For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.” (Psalm 96:5)

They are either:

  • human inventions
  • spiritual deceptions
  • or powerless idols

The heart of the matter

The true God is not discovered by preference, culture, or tradition—but by revelation.

“And this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)
