Bible Facts Of The Day, February 18, 2026 “Why Jesus Came”

I. The Practice of Sin Reveals a Master

“He who sins is of the devil…”

• Sin is not harmless — it reveals allegiance
• Habitual sin shows spiritual bondage
• No neutral ground — either God rules or sin rules

Point: Sin is slavery, not freedom.

II. The Devil’s Work is Destruction

“…the devil has sinned from the beginning.”

• Author of rebellion
• Source of lies and temptation
• Brings guilt, brokenness, and death

Point: Everything Satan builds eventually destroys lives.

III. The Purpose of Christ’s Coming

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested…”

• God stepped into human history
• Jesus came intentionally, not accidentally
• The cross was a rescue mission

Point: Christmas and Calvary were planned deliverance.

IV. The Victory of Christ

“…that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

What did Jesus destroy?

• Power of sin
• Penalty of sin
• Authority of Satan
• Fear of death

Point: The enemy is defeated — believers fight from victory, not for victory.

V. The Evidence of a True Believer

If Christ destroyed sin’s rule:

• We resist sin
• We repent quickly
• We pursue holiness
• We live changed lives

Point: Salvation produces transformation.

Conclusion

Two choices:

• Continue in sin → bondage
• Follow Christ → freedom

Jesus didn’t come to improve your life —
He came to liberate your life.
