Bible Facts Of The Day, February 25, 2026 “Don’t Judge The Book By Its Cover”

We all know the old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”
It reminds us that appearances can be misleading. Something plain on the outside may be priceless on the inside. Something impressive outwardly may be empty within.

Yet sadly, this is exactly what millions of people do with the Bible.

They see it as just another book.
Old. Thick. Religious. Outdated.
Something that sits on a shelf and collects dust.

But the Bible is not just a book.

It is the Book.

And one day, the very Book people ignore will be the Book that judges them.

1. Many Judge the Bible by Its Words

We live in a world of nearly eight billion people.
Most people have seen a Bible, but few have opened it seriously.

Some say:

  • “It’s just history.”
  • “It’s just stories.”
  • “It’s written by men.”
  • “It’s old-fashioned.”

They judge it without reading it.
They reject it without knowing it.
They dismiss it without testing it.

Just like judging a book by its cover.

But you cannot understand the Bible from the outside.
You must open it.

2. The Bible Is Not Just Information — It Is Revelation

This Book is different from every other book ever written.

Other books contain men’s opinions.

The Bible contains God’s voice.

Inside its pages are:

  • The words God spoke to prophets
  • The commands of the Lord
  • The promises of salvation
  • The very words of Jesus Christ

No other book under the sun can claim this.

Kings have written books.
Scholars have written books.
Philosophers have written books.

But only the Bible says, “Thus says the Lord.”

It is not man reaching for God.
It is God reaching down to man.

3. The Bible Is Alive and Powerful

Hebrews 4:12 says:

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…”

This Book is alive.

It:

  • Convicts sinners
  • Changes hearts
  • Breaks addictions
  • Restores families
  • Saves souls

No other book can do that.

You can read a novel and be entertained.
You can read a textbook and gain knowledge.
But when you read the Bible, the Bible reads you.

It exposes who you really are.

4. The Bible Will Judge Every Person

Here is the serious truth.

People think they are judging the Bible.

But one day, the Bible will judge them.

Jesus said that the Word He spoke will judge mankind at the last day.

Not culture.
Not feelings.
Not opinions.

But God’s Word.

Every life will be measured by this Book.

So the question is not:
“Do I agree with the Bible?”

The real question is:
“Am I right with the Bible?”

Because eternity depends on it.

5. What Should We Do?

Instead of judging the Bible:

Open it.
Read it.
Study it.
Believe it.
Obey it.

Don’t let it sit on the shelf.

Let it sit in your heart.

Because this Book is:

  • your guide in confusion
  • your light in darkness
  • your strength in weakness
  • your hope in death

Conclusion

Don’t judge the Book by its cover.

Inside this Book is:

  • God’s truth
  • God’s will
  • God’s salvation

And inside this Book is life eternal.

The world may treat it like an ordinary book…

But heaven calls it the Word of God.

So today, don’t ignore it.

Open it — before it opens you.

Amen.
