II. RICHES — CHRIST POSSESSES INEXHAUSTIBLE WEALTH
Heaven declares:
“Riches.”
We normally think of riches as money, property, possessions, or earthly resources.
But the riches of Christ extend infinitely beyond material wealth.
Paul writes:
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor…”
— 2 Corinthians 8:9
Christ owned everything.
Yet He entered His own creation as a servant.
The Creator entered the world He created.
The One who owned heaven had nowhere to lay His head.
The One surrounded by angels was surrounded by sinners.
The One clothed with heavenly glory was stripped at Calvary.
Why?
For us.
There are riches in Christ that money cannot purchase.
The riches of His grace.
The riches of His mercy.
The riches of His forgiveness.
The riches of His inheritance.
The riches of His kingdom.
The riches of eternal life.
Paul calls them:
“the unsearchable riches of Christ.”
— Ephesians 3:8
You could search Christ for eternity and never exhaust His riches.
“Maranatha! Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
