Is Christmas important only to Christians? The answer is NO. Many families celebrate Christmas for all the wrong reasons. Many streets and city squares are decorated with lights and decorations. Large Christmas trees are erected in places like the Rockefeller Center. The shopping malls and the department stores are filled with colorful displays and they attract millions of buyers to buy their products.
Every year during Christmas time, businesses boom. The vendors wait for this kind of opportunity to sell their products. This year alone the sales are going to reach to a staggering amount close to a trillion dollars. Every year for the last five years, the sales hit over five hundred billion dollars.
As a matter of fact, for many nations Christmas is the ideal time to rebuild their economies. Many families spend a lot of money buying gifts to their loved ones especially families with young kids.
Many people don’t even know the reason for the season. So many office parties take place during the Christmas season without even knowing the purpose.
Christmas is not a tradition nor an annual thing. It is not about shopping or about buying extravagant gifts. Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God in flesh. He’s fully Man and He is fully God. This God Man was conceived through the virgin birth and was brought into this world as a new born Baby.
Lord Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. Out of God’s abundant grace, every year He allows the nations to prosper in the name of Christmas.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
