The first advent of Christ is the anniversary of Jesus’ birth at Christmas. It’s the first day of the Advent season, a time of preparation for Christmas and the Second Coming of Christ.
Matthew 1:18
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
The season of Advent in the Christian calendar anticipates the “coming of Christ” from three different perspectives: the physical nativity in Bethlehem, the reception of Christ in the heart of the believer, and the eschatological Second Coming.
During the season of Advent every born again Christian believer must learn to thank God for sending His Son Jesus Christ. The season of Advent in fact does not begin in December but it begins on the day a person is saved through Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ first coming into this world was an extraordinary event for the entire humanity. Even for God it was a mission of great difficulty. God did the unthinkable. He allowed His Son to die on the cross of Calvary. But before the death of Christ was planned by God, He had to plan to bring His Son Christ Jesus into this world in the form of a New Born Baby. In order to do that God had to choose Abraham and establish him as the first patriarch. The term “patriarch” refers to the male ancestors of the Jewish people, and Abraham is the first mentioned in the Bible as the lineage through which the Israelites are descended.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
