DISCERNMENT

As we saw from yesterday’s blog Solomon was given the ability to discern the children of God. Solomon was appointed as the king to judge his own people. King Solomon had jurisdiction over the Northern kingdom of Israel and the Southern kingdom of Judah.

You see God loved His children. The Israelites even though they were stiff necked people, God still loved them. So, He appointed Solomon to judge them righteously. Even in today’s generation, God loves His children, the born again believers unconditionally. Please note that the discernment Solomon received was from God. In the Gospel of Matthew it is written:

Matthew 12:42

⁴² The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

If king Solomon was given the wisdom to discern God’s children, there’s One greater than Solomon is here as per the above verse. How rightly do you think He will judge His children? Solomon, even though married Pharoah’s daughter, God still gave Him the wisdom. What about us? Are we not sinners by birth? God because of His incomprehensible love towards us, He is willing to give us the spiritual discernment that only He can gift us through His Son Lord Jesus Christ.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
