DISCERNMENT
Solomon as the Bible declares was a great king. Did you know when God asked Solomon what he wanted, Solomon said that he desired to discern between good and evil. As Solomon was a king during his time, he wanted to judge God’s people that is the Israelites with the wisdom of God. So, God gave king Solomon the wisdom that he needed to judge between good and evil.
1 Kings 3:9
9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil.
Not only did God give wisdom to Solomon but He is willing to give it to you and me today for we are His children. But one needs to ask Him. King Solomon writes in Proverbs this:
Proverbs 2:3
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
And in verse six of the same chapter, it is written:
Proverbs 2:6
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
The LORD GOD is a mighty GOD. His wisdom has no end and no beginning. In the world that we live in today, many people have lost the way to spiritually discern between the good and the evil. The definition of good and evil has been corrupted by this world. But as the children of God we should be glad that the wisdom of God is in us by which we are able to see what we are seeing with our eyes. That is the reason born again believers are called the light of the world.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha!
