BIBLE FACTS OF THE DAY

  • Bible Facts Of The Day, April 28, 2026 “The Spirit of Antichrist: Discernment in the Last Days”

    April 28th, 2026

    Introduction

Church, we are not just living in difficult times—we are living in deceptive times. Truth is being redefined, Christ is being diluted, and many voices claim authority. But the Word of God gives us clarity:
There is a spirit at work in the world that is against Christ—the spirit of the Antichrist.

John is not speaking of a distant future only—he says it is already in the world.

    1. The Danger of a Christless Message

    The Scripture says:
“Every spirit that does not confess… is not of God.”

    This is serious. It means:

    • Not every teaching is from God
    • Not every preacher is sent by God
    • Not every spiritual experience is from God

If Christ is removed, distorted, or denied—God is not in it.

A message without the true Christ may sound spiritual, but it is spiritually deadly.

    2. What Is the Spirit of Antichrist?

    The word Antichrist means:

    • Against Christ, or
    • In place of Christ

    This spirit operates by:

    • Denying who Jesus truly is
    • Replacing Him with a false version
    • Distracting people from His authority

It is subtle. It does not always come with obvious evil—it often comes wrapped in religion, philosophy, or culture.

    3. The Core Denial: Rejecting the Incarnation

    John highlights a specific issue:
Jesus Christ coming in the flesh

    Why is this attacked?

    Because the incarnation proves:

    • God entered humanity
    • Salvation is real and accomplished
    • Jesus is both fully God and fully man

If the enemy can remove this truth:

    • The cross loses its power
    • Redemption becomes impossible
    • Faith becomes empty

So the attack is always on the identity of Christ.

    4. The Spirit Is Already at Work

John says this spirit “is now already in the world.”

    This means:

    • It is not coming—it is here
    • It influences systems, ideologies, and beliefs
    • It operates in subtle and widespread ways

    We see it today when:

    • Jesus is reduced to a moral teacher
    • His divinity is denied
    • His authority is rejected
    • His exclusivity is challenged

This is not accidental—it is spiritual.

    5. The Call to Discernment

Believers are not called to fear—but to discern.

    How do we discern?

    • By the Word of God — truth reveals error
    • By the Spirit of God — the Holy Spirit leads into truth
    • By the confession of Christ — the ultimate test

Do not accept everything you hear.
Test it. Examine it. Compare it with Scripture.

    6. Standing Firm in Truth

In a world of deception, the believer must be rooted.

    Stand firm in:

    • The deity of Christ
    • The humanity of Christ
    • The finished work of the cross
    • The resurrection power of Jesus

The truth about Jesus is not negotiable—it is foundational.

    7. Victory Over the Spirit of Antichrist

Though this spirit is active, it is not victorious.

    Because:

    • Jesus has already overcome the world
    • The Holy Spirit lives within believers
    • Truth will always triumph over deception

You are not defenseless—you are empowered.

    Conclusion: Choose the True Christ

    The dividing line is clear:

    • Truth confesses Christ
    • Error denies Him

This is not just theology—it is eternity.

    Ask yourself:

    • Do I know the real Jesus?
    • Am I standing on truth?
    • Can I discern deception?

Because in these last days, only those grounded in truth will stand.

    Closing Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, awaken our hearts to discern truth from deception. Guard us against every false spirit and every lie of the enemy. Root us deeply in the truth of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh, died, and rose again. Strengthen us to stand firm in these last days and fill us with Your Spirit so that we may walk in truth and power.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
