Bible Facts Of The Day, September 09, 2025 JACOB’S TROUBLE

  • Jeremiah 30:7: This is the central passage identifying the time: “For that day is great, so that none is like it; it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it”.
  • Context: This prophesied time is a future event for the nation of Israel, described as the “seventieth week of Daniel” or the Great Tribulation, when an Antichrist figure will make a covenant with Israel, which he will later break, leading to intense persecution.
  • Severity: The suffering will be unparalleled, unlike any tribulation Israel has ever faced, including periods like he Holocaust,  described as a time of great terror and agony.
  • Persecution: It is a period of massive persecution and suffering specifically aimed at the Jewish people.
  • Spiritual Blindness: It is a time when the spiritual blindness of many Jewish people to Jesus as their Messiah will be removed as they turn to Him for salvation during this intense period.
  • Divine Judgment: Some interpret the troubles as a form of judgment on Israel for their past disobedience, but it is ultimately a process that leads to purification and salvation for a remnant.

Salvation of a Remnant: Despite the immense suffering, God’s faithfulness to His covenant will ensure that a remnant of Israel is saved.

Recognition of Jesus: During or at the end of this time, the Jewish people will acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Messiah.
