Part 2 — The Fall of Eve: Failing to Seek the Will of the Husband
Satan’s attack in Eden was against divine order.
The serpent approached Eve separately and questioned the Word of God.
“Has God indeed said…?” — Genesis 3:1 NKJV
The enemy still uses the same strategy today:
- Question God’s Word
- Twist truth
- Promote independence from God
- Encourage self-will
Eve’s greatest failure was not merely eating the fruit.
Her failure was acting independently without seeking counsel from the one she was joined to.
Instead of consulting Adam, she trusted her own reasoning, emotions, and desires.
“She took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” — Genesis 3:6 NKJV
The moment Eve acted outside divine order, sin entered creation.
Today many believers repeat Eve’s mistake.
Many make decisions without seeking Christ.
Many move ahead without prayer.
Many trust feelings more than the Word of God.
Many follow culture rather than the Holy Spirit.
But Scripture warns us:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.” — 1 John 4:1 NKJV
Satan still appears in many forms:
- False doctrine
- False teachers
- Fleshly desires
- Human wisdom
- Pride
- Self-deception
The devil still whispers:
- “Follow your heart.”
- “Do what feels right.”
- “You do not need to seek God.”
- “You can decide on your own.”
But Jesus declared:
“Without Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 NKJV
Failure to seek the will of God always leads to consequences.
“There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.” — Proverbs 14:12 NKJV
Every believer must understand:
The Bride of Christ cannot function independently from the Bridegroom.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
We come before You asking for discernment and wisdom in these last days. Your Word says that many false spirits have gone out into the world, and we ask You to protect us from deception. Father, forgive us for every moment we acted without seeking Your will. Forgive us for trusting our emotions, our reasoning, and the voice of the world above Your Word. Help us to test every spirit and seek Your guidance in all things. Expose every lie of the enemy operating in our lives. Guard our hearts, minds, and souls from the serpent’s deception. Teach us to remain prayerful, watchful, and obedient to Your voice alone. Let the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
