Bible Facts Of The Day, June 07, 2026 “From Kidron to Gethsemane: The Road of Surrender and Victory – Part I”

What I am about to show you is a very important aspect of leading the life as a Christian believer. Before God brings us into a place of surrender, He often leads us through a valley of testing.

Do you know the way to the Garden of Gethsemane?

Introduction

No one arrives at Gethsemane without first crossing Kidron.

The Brook Kidron was a dark valley between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives. Jesus crossed this valley on the night He would be betrayed.

Many believers desire God’s power but resist God’s process.

Yet throughout Scripture, God develops His servants in valleys.

  • Joseph had a pit.
  • Moses had a wilderness.
  • David had caves.
  • Elijah had a desert.
  • Jesus had Kidron.

Main Points

1. Every Child of God Has a Kidron

  • A place of uncertainty
  • A place of loneliness
  • A place of testing

2. God Uses Valleys to Prepare Us

  • Valleys reveal character
  • Valleys expose weaknesses
  • Valleys teach dependence

3. The Valley Is Not Your Destination

  • God never intended Israel to remain in the wilderness
  • God never intended Christ to remain in the grave

Application

Stop asking, “Why am I in the valley?”

Start asking, “What is God teaching me in the valley?”

A Closing Challenge for you

If you are in Kidron today, keep walking. God is preparing you for something greater.

Prayer to the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being with us in every valley we face. When the road is dark and uncertain, help us to trust Your guidance and Your perfect plan. Give us strength to keep walking when we are weary, faith to keep believing when we cannot see the way forward, and courage to remain obedient in times of testing.

Lord, remind us that the valley is not our destination but a place of preparation. Use every trial to shape our character, deepen our faith, and draw us closer to You. Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, who crossed Kidron and faithfully followed Your will.

May we feel encouraged, knowing that You are working all things together for our good and for Your glory.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen.
