Bible Facts Of The Day, July 02, 2026 “The Word That Tills the Heart – Part I”

Series Theme

Before God planted a garden, He planned a man. Before God sent rain, He prepared a worker. Before fruitfulness could exist, the ground had to be tilled. This reveals a timeless spiritual truth: God’s Word first prepares the heart before God produces the harvest.

The Word of God serves us in two ways:

  • Physically—revealing God’s wisdom, order, and provision in creation.
  • Spiritually—transforming the human heart into fertile ground for His Kingdom.

PART I

Before the Harvest, God Prepared the Man

Primary Text

Genesis 2:5b

“…there was no man to till the ground.”

Introduction

Genesis tells us something remarkable.

Before there were flowers…
Before there were crops…
Before there was agriculture…

God noticed one thing was missing.

A man.

God did not first think about fruit.

He first thought about responsibility.

He did not first think about abundance.

He first thought about stewardship.

This demonstrates God’s eternal principle:

God prepares the worker before He prepares the work.

Many people pray,

“Lord, bless me.”

But God asks,

“Are you prepared to manage My blessing?”

1. God Never Creates Without Purpose

Nothing God creates exists by accident.

Adam was not created merely to enjoy the Garden.

He was created to serve.

Even paradise required labor.

Work was never the curse.

Sin made work difficult.

Purpose existed before the Fall.

Every believer is created with divine purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…”

God always creates people before assignments.

2. God’s Mind Always Thinks Ahead

Notice the order.

No plants.

No herbs.

No crops.

Why?

Because there was no one to cultivate them.

God never wastes blessings.

He prepares someone capable of handling them.

Many people ask,

“Why hasn’t God opened the door?”

Perhaps because He is still preparing the person.

Preparation always precedes promotion.

3. God Still Looks for Spiritual Farmers

Jesus said:

“The harvest truly is plentiful…”

The problem has never been the harvest.

The problem has always been laborers.

God is still searching for people willing to cultivate hearts.

Every believer has been called to till someone’s life.

Parents till children.

Pastors till congregations.

Teachers till students.

Evangelists till nations.

The Kingdom advances through spiritual cultivation.

Application

Ask yourself:

Is God preparing me before promoting me?

Am I asking for fruit without becoming faithful?

God never calls spectators.

He calls cultivators.

Conclusion

Before God planted a garden…

He prepared a gardener.

Before God blesses your ministry…

He prepares your character.

Before He entrusts you with influence…

He tills your heart.
