Bible Facts Of The Day, July 03, 2026 “The Word That Tills the Heart – Part II”

PART II

The Word of God Is Heaven’s Plow

Primary Text

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

“For the word of God is living and powerful…”

Introduction

Tilling completely changes the condition of the soil.

Hard ground cannot produce healthy crops.

Likewise,

A hard heart cannot produce spiritual fruit.

The Word of God functions exactly like a plow.

It overturns.

It exposes.

It softens.

It prepares.

1. Tilling Turns What Was Hidden Into the Open

When a farmer tills,

Everything buried underneath comes to the surface.

The same happens spiritually.

God’s Word exposes:

Hidden pride.

Hidden bitterness.

Hidden unbelief.

Hidden sin.

Many dislike conviction.

But conviction is God’s preparation for healing.

The plow hurts only because healing follows.

2. Tilling Allows Living Water to Flow

Hard ground causes water to run away.

Soft ground absorbs it.

Jesus called Himself Living Water.

The Holy Spirit desires to saturate every believer.

But hardened hearts resist His work.

Isaiah declared,

“Break up your fallow ground.”

Many Christians desire revival without repentance.

God says,

“First allow Me to soften your heart.”

3. Tilling Awakens Life

Healthy soil contains invisible life.

Microorganisms begin working.

Nutrients become available.

Spiritually,

The Holy Spirit awakens gifts that have been dormant.

Faith grows.

Love grows.

Joy grows.

Wisdom grows.

Everything begins with the Word preparing the soil.

Illustration

Two fields receive the same seed.

One was prepared.

The other remained untouched.

The difference was never the seed.

It was the condition of the soil.

Jesus taught exactly this in the Parable of the Sower.

The Word never loses its power.

The heart determines the harvest.

Application

Ask God:

What areas of my life remain untilled?

Where have I become hard?

What hidden things need to be exposed?

Conclusion

God’s Word is never sent merely to inform.

It comes to transform.

It plows before it plants.

It wounds before it heals.

It exposes before it restores.
