PART V — Christ Is Our Strength in Every Temptation
Hebrews 4:15–16
Introduction
Jesus understands every temptation.
He experienced hunger.
Weariness.
Rejection.
Sorrow.
Pain.
Yet He remained without sin.
Because He overcame, He now strengthens those who belong to Him.
Three Great Encouragements
1. Jesus Understands Our Struggles
He knows what temptation feels like.
He sympathizes with our weakness.
We never suffer alone.
2. Jesus Supplies Grace for Today
His grace is not only for salvation.
It is for daily living.
Every temptation comes with sufficient grace.
God never abandons His children.
3. Jesus Leads Us into Victory
Our Savior is:
- our Shepherd
- our Redeemer
- our Healer
- our Deliverer
- our High Priest
- our Rock
- our Refuge
As we abide in Him, temptation loses its power.
His Spirit strengthens us to stand firm.
Final Exhortation
The Christian life is not won by human determination but by continual dependence upon the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word. The enemy still seeks opportunities to tempt God’s people, especially during seasons of weakness. Yet our hope is not in our own strength but in the One who conquered every temptation.
When fear comes, stand upon God’s Word.
When discouragement comes, stand upon God’s Word.
When temptation comes, stand upon God’s Word.
When uncertainty comes, stand upon God’s Word.
Like our Savior, let our response always be, “It is written.”
The Word of God is our bread, our strength, our comfort, and our guide. As we trust in Christ and obey His voice, He will sustain us through every wilderness, strengthen us in every trial, and lead us safely into victory.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the perfect example of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who overcame every temptation through complete obedience to Your Word. Help us to trust You in seasons of weakness and to remember that our strength comes from You alone. Fill our hearts with a deep love for the Scriptures, so that Your truth may guide our thoughts, our words, and our actions each day.
When the enemy seeks to discourage or deceive us, remind us that Christ has already won the victory. Give us grace to stand firm in faith, courage to obey Your will even when it is difficult, and peace to rest in Your promises. Strengthen those who are weary, comfort those who are hurting, and renew the hope of everyone who calls upon Your name.
May our lives proclaim that we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth. Keep us faithful until the day we stand in Your glorious presence.
In the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
