Series Theme:
Every born-again believer occupies a divine office appointed by Jesus Christ. Salvation is not merely an invitation to heaven; it is a commission to labor for the Kingdom of God. We are not spectators—we are servants, ambassadors, laborers, and stewards who will one day give an account before our Master.

PART I

You Have Been Appointed to a Divine Office

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Introduction

Every person in this world understands the importance of employment. Without work, it becomes difficult to survive. Society functions because millions wake up every morning and faithfully report to their jobs.

The same principle exists in the Kingdom of God.

Many believers think that Christianity simply means attending church once a week, singing hymns, reading the Bible occasionally, and waiting for heaven. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The moment God saved you, He also employed you.

Jesus did not merely forgive your sins.

He hired you into His Kingdom.

You now belong to His workforce.

Your employer is no ordinary king.

Your Master is the King of kings.

1. Salvation Is Also an Appointment

Paul says we are created for good works.

Notice carefully.

We are not saved by works.

We are saved unto works.

Grace saves us.

Grace also sends us.

When Jesus called fishermen…

they left their nets.

When He called Matthew…

he left the tax office.

Why?

Because Jesus was giving them a new office.

Today He still does the same.

Some serve through preaching.

Some through teaching.

Some through giving.

Some through encouraging.

Some through praying.

Some through hospitality.

Some through evangelism.

Every believer has an office.

Nobody is unemployed in God’s Kingdom.

2. Every Office Has an Assignment

Imagine receiving a job description but never showing up to work.

Eventually the employer asks,

“Where have you been?”

Likewise, Jesus has entrusted every believer with gifts.

Romans 12.

1 Corinthians 12.

Ephesians 4.

Each describes different spiritual gifts.

Not everyone preaches.

Not everyone teaches.

But everyone serves.

No believer was saved merely to occupy a church pew.

God never intended Christians to become spiritual consumers.

He calls us to become spiritual contributors.

3. Love Is the Language of Every Office

Paul tells us in Galatians 5:13,

“Through love serve one another.”

He does not say,

Serve because people deserve it.

Serve because you love Christ.

Every office in God’s Kingdom functions by love.

Love forgives.

Love sacrifices.

Love perseveres.

Love reaches souls.

Love gives generously.

Love remains faithful.

Without love…

our labor becomes empty religion.

4. Jesus Is the Perfect Employee

John 17:4

“I have finished the work…”

Jesus completed every assignment.

He healed.

He preached.

He discipled.

He obeyed.

He endured.

Finally He declared,

“It is finished.”

He never abandoned His calling.

He finished it.

He is our example.

5. Have You Reported to Work?

Many believers ask,

“What is God’s will?”

Perhaps a better question is,

“Have I reported for duty?”

God often reveals greater assignments only after we become faithful in smaller ones.

Faithfulness opens larger doors.

Closing Challenge

You may work for a company Monday through Friday.

But you work for Christ every day.

Your earthly career pays temporary wages.

Your heavenly calling produces eternal rewards.

Ask yourself:

What office has Jesus entrusted to me?

Am I faithfully serving Him?

Or have I become spiritually unemployed?
