PART II — Behold the Glorified Son of Man

Revelation 1:13–16

Introduction

Matthew shows Christ stripped of His garments.

Revelation shows Christ clothed in eternal majesty.

Matthew shows Him crowned with thorns.

Revelation shows Him crowned with indescribable glory.

Matthew shows soldiers gambling for His clothing.

Revelation shows heaven unable to describe His appearance.

Apostle John had walked with Jesus for over three years.

He leaned upon His breast.

He ate with Him.

He spoke with Him.

But on Patmos…

John hardly recognized Him and fell at the feet of Christ as dead.

There are many who want to challenge Jesus.

Little do they know that He is the God Almighty.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Rev 1:8

1. His Garment Reveals His Majesty

“Clothed with a garment down to the feet…”

This is not the clothing of humiliation.

This is the garment of heaven.

The One once stripped naked before sinful men now wears the robes of divine authority.

No soldier can remove this garment.

No human hand can touch it.

2. His White Hair Reveals Eternal Glory

John writes:

“His head and hair were white like wool…”

John was not describing old age.

White throughout Scripture represents purity…

holiness…

eternal wisdom…

divine glory.

Human language fails.

John searched creation for comparisons.

Snow.

Wool.

Light.

Nothing on earth could adequately describe Him.

3. His Eyes Are Like Flames of Fire

Nothing is hidden.

His eyes penetrate:

every heart…

every secret…

every motive…

every lie…

Hebrews 4:13

“There is no creature hidden from His sight…”

No hypocrisy survives His gaze.

His eyes consume all deception.

4. His Feet Like Burnished Brass

Brass refined in a furnace speaks of judgment.

His steps are perfect.

His kingdom cannot be shaken.

The One whose feet were pierced by Roman nails now possesses feet blazing with heavenly glory.

5. His Voice Like Many Waters

Imagine standing beside Niagara Falls.

Its thunder overwhelms conversation.

Now multiply that infinitely.

When Christ speaks…

creation listens.

Demons tremble.

Kings fall.

Mountains obey.

The oceans respond.

The dead awaken.

His voice cannot be ignored.

Application

This is no longer Bethlehem.

This is no longer Calvary.

This is the risen Lord.

No earthly artist can paint Him.

No camera can capture Him.

No human imagination can fully comprehend Him.

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
