Bible Facts Of The Day, September 30, 2026 “FROM JERUSALEM TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH – Part III”

PART III — TO THE END OF THE EARTH

THE POWER THAT CANNOT BE CONTAINED

Acts 1:8

“…and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The vision suddenly becomes enormous.

Jesus begins with one city.

Then one region.

Then another region.

Then Jesus essentially points toward:

THE WORLD.

The gospel begins locally but is intended to move globally.

1. GOD’S HEART HAS ALWAYS INCLUDED THE NATIONS

Long before Acts 1:8, God revealed His global purpose.

God told Abraham:

Genesis 12:3

“And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

The Psalms declare:

Psalm 67:2

“That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”

Isaiah declares:

Isaiah 49:6

“I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”

Then Jesus commands:

Matthew 28:19

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…”

And:

Mark 16:15

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Acts 1:8 therefore stands within the great missionary purpose of God.

THE GOSPEL IS FOR THE WORLD.

2. WE ARE WITNESSES — NOT THE MESSAGE

Jesus said:

“You shall be witnesses TO ME.”

That changes everything.

The Church is not the center of the message.

The preacher is not the center.

The missionary is not the center.

The believer is not the center.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE CENTER.

Acts 4:12

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

The Holy Spirit empowers believers so that Jesus will be made known.

John 15:26

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth… He will testify of Me.”

The Holy Spirit points to Christ.

The believer empowered by the Spirit points to Christ.

The gospel proclaims Christ.

The mission belongs to Christ.

3. THE POWER WAS NEVER GIVEN TO STOP WITH US

Here is one of the great lessons of Acts 1:8:

THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES IN US,
BUT HIS WORK DOES NOT STOP WITH US.

He works through us.

You were not given light merely to admire the light.

You were given light so that darkness could be confronted.

You were not given the gospel merely to keep it.

You were given the gospel to proclaim it.

Paul said:

Romans 1:16

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…”

The gospel is meant to move.

From person to person.

From house to house.

From city to city.

From nation to nation.

From generation to generation.

4. ACTS 1:8 IS STILL UNFOLDING

Think about the disciples standing there when Jesus spoke these words.

They were a relatively small group.

No airplanes.

No television.

No internet.

No social media.

No printing press.

Yet Jesus said:

“TO THE END OF THE EARTH.”

Humanly speaking, the assignment looked impossible.

But Jesus never expected them to accomplish a supernatural mission through natural strength.

He said:

“YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER.”

That is the secret.

The mission is bigger than us.

But the power does not originate with us.

2 Corinthians 4:7

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”

We are the vessels.

HE IS THE POWER.

We are the witnesses.

CHRIST IS THE MESSAGE.

We are the servants.

HE IS THE LORD.

5. FROM JERUSALEM TO REVELATION

Acts begins with Jesus saying:

“Go to the end of the earth.”

Revelation shows us where that mission is heading.

Revelation 7:9–10

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb… crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”

Look at the progression.

In Acts 1:

Go to the nations.

In Revelation 7:

The nations are standing before the throne.

Acts shows the mission going out.

Revelation shows the redeemed gathered in.

SERIES CLIMAX

Saints, Acts 1:8 is not merely geography.

It is a picture of a gospel that refuses to remain still.

JERUSALEM — those closest to me.

JUDEA — those around me.

SAMARIA — those different from me.

THE END OF THE EARTH — those far from me.

And over all of it stands one promise:

“YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER.”

We cannot reach Jerusalem without the Holy Spirit.

We cannot reach Judea without the Holy Spirit.

We cannot cross into Samaria without the Holy Spirit.

We cannot reach the nations without the Holy Spirit.

So the prayer of the Church should not merely be:

“Lord, give us a bigger platform.”

Our prayer should be:

“HOLY SPIRIT, EMPOWER US TO BE FAITHFUL WITNESSES OF JESUS CHRIST.”

Start with me.

Start in my home.

Start in my Jerusalem.

Then take me beyond what is familiar.

Take me into Judea.

Take me across the barriers of Samaria.

And use my life for the advancement of the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Because the power is not ours.

THE POWER IS HIS.

The message is not about us.

THE MESSAGE IS CHRIST.

And the mission does not end at the doors of the church.

THE MISSION GOES TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.

CLOSING PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit. Forgive us for the times we have lived as though we were powerless when You have called us to depend upon Your Spirit.

Holy Spirit, empower us to become faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ.

Give us courage in our Jerusalem. Expand our witness throughout our Judea. Remove every barrier that keeps us from entering our Samaria. And give us a heart for people throughout the earth.

May our homes see Jesus in us. May our communities hear the gospel through us. May barriers fall before the love and truth of Christ. And may the name of Jesus Christ be proclaimed among the nations.

We are Your vessels.

You are our power.

Jesus is our message.

And the world is our mission field.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ,

Amen.

“Maranatha! Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
