Bible Facts Of The Day, October 06, 2026 “HELL — THE JUDGMENT WE MUST NOT IGNORE – Part IV”

PART IV — THE FINAL JUDGMENT AND THE LAKE OF FIRE

“THE BOOKS WERE OPENED”

Revelation 20:11–12

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it…”

Revelation takes us forward to one of Scripture’s most solemn scenes:

THE GREAT WHITE THRONE.

Earthly courts can make mistakes.

Human judges have limited knowledge.

Evidence can be hidden.

Witnesses can lie.

But there will come a judgment where nothing is hidden.

1. THE DEAD STAND BEFORE GOD

Revelation 20:12 says:

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God…”

Small and great.

Rich and poor.

Famous and forgotten.

Powerful and powerless.

Human distinctions disappear.

Every person stands before God.

2. THE BOOKS ARE OPENED

The verse continues:

“…and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.”

God’s judgment is not based upon rumor.

It is righteous judgment.

Romans 2:6 says God:

“will render to each one according to his deeds.”

Nothing is hidden from God.

Hebrews 4:13 declares:

“And there is no creature hidden from His sight…”

3. DEATH AND HADES ARE CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE

Revelation 20:14 says:

“Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

Notice carefully:

Hades is cast into the lake of fire.

Therefore Revelation distinguishes Hades from the final lake of fire.

Death itself will finally be defeated.

4. SATAN’S FINAL DESTINATION

Revelation 20:10 says:

“The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…”

Satan does not rule hell as a king.

He is judged.

He is not sitting upon a throne in hell.

He is himself condemned by God.

The devil’s rebellion does not end in victory.

IT ENDS IN JUDGMENT.

5. THE BOOK OF LIFE

Then Revelation 20:15 says:

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

That brings us to the most important question of this entire series:

HOW CAN A PERSON ESCAPE CONDEMNATION?

And that leads us directly to Part V.

“Maranatha! Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
