BIBLE FACTS OF THE DAY

  • Bible Facts Of The Day, April 17, 2026 “From Free Will to God’s Will: The Miracle of the New Birth”

    April 17th, 2026

    1. THE ILLUSION OF HUMAN FREEDOM

    Jesus said in John 3:3:
“Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

We live in a generation that celebrates freedom without boundaries.
    The culture declares:

    • “It’s my body.”
    • “It’s my life.”
    • “I choose my truth.”

But Scripture exposes a deeper reality:

Freedom without God is not freedom—it is bondage in disguise.

    According to Romans 6:16:
“You are slaves of the one whom you obey…”

Every human being is born with a will—but that will is already inclined toward sin.

    So the question is not:
    Do you have free will?
    The real question is:
    Who is ruling your will?

    2. THE SUPERNATURAL WORK OF BEING BORN AGAIN

    Being born again is not:

    • A decision alone
    • A prayer alone
    • A religious moment

It is a divine operation performed by God Himself.

    Jesus told John 3:6:
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

    When a person is saved:

    • Heaven intervenes
    • The Spirit regenerates
    • The heart is transformed

This is not behavior modification—this is spiritual resurrection.

    3. THE GREAT EXCHANGE: YOUR WILL FOR HIS WILL

    At salvation, something profound happens:

    You don’t just receive forgiveness—
You enter into a divine exchange.

    According to Galatians 2:20:
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

    This means:

    • Your old desires are crucified
    • Your independent will is surrendered
    • Christ begins to live through you

    But hear this carefully:

You are not turned into a robot—
You are liberated from the tyranny of sin.

    4. FROM SLAVERY TO SIN → SERVANT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

    The Bible uses strong language:

    In Romans 6:18:
“Having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”

    There is no neutral ground.

    Before salvation:

    • You feel free, but are bound to sin

    After salvation:

    • You submit to God, but are truly free

    Paradox of the Kingdom:

    • Losing your life = finding it
    • Surrendering your will = gaining true freedom

    5. DOES A BELIEVER LOSE FREE WILL?

This is where we must be precise.

    A born-again believer:

    • Still has the ability to choose
    • But now has a new nature that desires God

    Before Christ:

    • You could not please God

    After Christ:

    • You are empowered to choose righteousness

    So what changes?

Not the existence of your will
But the direction and master of your will

You are no longer controlled by sin—
You are now under the Lordship of Christ.

    6. TRUE SURRENDER: NOT LOSS, BUT ALIGNMENT

Jesus Himself modeled this in Luke 22:42:
“Not My will, but Yours, be done.”

This is the heartbeat of the born-again life.

    Surrender is not:

    • Losing identity
    • Losing purpose

    Surrender is:

    • Finding your true design
    • Walking in divine alignment

    7. THE DANGER OF FALSE CONVERSION

    Many today claim:

    • “I’m saved”
      But continue living:
    • With no transformation
    • With no surrender

    This is dangerous.

    Because a truly born-again person:

    • Has a changed heart
    • Has new desires
    • Cannot comfortably live in sin

    As 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares:
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…”

    8. TOTAL SURRENDER

This is the call of the Gospel:

    Not partial surrender
    Not emotional moments
    Not religious identity

    But total yielding to Christ.

    Jesus said in Matthew 16:24:
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”

    CLOSING:

    Being born again is not:

    • Adding Jesus to your life

    It is:

    • Jesus becoming your life

    You don’t just change direction—
    You receive a new nature

    You don’t just choose God—
    God takes hold of you

    Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
