Bible Facts Of The Day, July 14, 2026 “From Chaos to Calling: God’s Purpose for a Life Transformed – Part II”

PART II

When the Spirit Begins to Move

Genesis 1:2

“And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

Introduction

Before there was light…

Before there was life…

Before there was beauty…

There was the Holy Spirit.

Nothing in creation began apart from God’s Spirit.

Likewise, no spiritual transformation begins apart from the work of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus told Nicodemus,

“Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)

I. God Comes to Us Before We Come to Him

Notice something remarkable.

The earth did not call for God.

God came to it.

Likewise, we did not first seek God.

He first sought us.

He pursued us through:

  • His Word
  • His Spirit
  • His grace
  • His Son

Salvation begins with God’s initiative.

II. The Spirit Brings Hope

The Holy Spirit hovered over chaos.

God was not discouraged by the disorder.

Instead, He saw what the earth could become.

God sees not only what we are…

He sees what His grace can make us.

Peter became a preacher.

Paul became an apostle.

Mary Magdalene became a faithful disciple.

The thief on the cross became a citizen of heaven.

Grace changes everything.

III. Submission Brings Transformation

Many people drift through life like ships without anchors.

But when we surrender to God’s authority:

  • Direction replaces confusion.
  • Peace replaces anxiety.
  • Purpose replaces emptiness.
  • Hope replaces despair.

True purpose begins with surrender.

Jesus prayed,

“Not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Application

Ask yourself:

  • Am I resisting God’s work?
  • Have I surrendered every area of my life?
  • Is the Holy Spirit leading my decisions?

Conclusion

The Spirit never hovers without purpose.

Where God is working…

Transformation is coming.
