Introduction

There are moments when everything changes—not with noise, but with quiet finality.

Matthew 26:1-2 is one of those moments.

Jesus has just completed His final teachings—warnings about the end times, judgment, and readiness. Now, the teaching ends, and the path to the cross begins.

3. The Sovereignty of Christ

There is no panic in Jesus. No hesitation. No uncertainty.

He knows exactly what is coming:

• Betrayal
• Arrest
• Mocking
• Crucifixion

Yet He moves forward deliberately.

This was not an accident.
This was not forced upon Him.

This was the plan of God.

Jesus is not a victim—He is the willing Savior.

4. The Beginning of Redemption

Matthew 26 begins what appears to be the darkest chapter:

• The disciples will scatter

What looks like defeat is actually victory.

There must be a response.

When Jesus finished speaking:

Soon, the One who finished speaking would hang on a cross and declare:
